About Dahab

Dahab (دهب) is a small Town situated on the southeast Coast of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.
Formerly a Bedouin fishing Village, located approximately 80 km (50 miles) northeast of Sharm el-Sheikh, Dahab is considered to be one of the Sinai's most treasured Diving Destinations.
The Sinai Peninsula was restored to Egyptian rule in the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty in 1982. The arrival of international Hotel Chains and the establishment of other ancillary facilities has since made the Town a popular dDestination with Tourists. Dahab is served by Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport.
Dahab is one of the oldest Cities in the Sinai with a historical harbor from the first century BC that served the Midian as well as the North and South.
In the seventies Dahab was discovered by the "Flower Childs" that turned the formerly Oasis into a relaxing Place. The Ghost of this Area still lives in Dahab with a fantastic Promenade and many relaxing Bars and Fish and BBQ Restaurants.

With more than 50 Dive Centers located within Dahab, it's a perfect place for Scuba Divers from all over the World.
The unique location of Dahab in the Gulf of Aquaba also guarantees Top-Conditions for surfing activities like Windsurfing and Kitesurfing.
